Four aspects of humaniqueness

From the recent study of Harvard University, Marc Hauser, professor of psychology proposed four key aspects that differentiate human and animal thought.

(1) to combine and recombine different types of information and knowledge in order to gain new understanding

(2) to apply the same rule or solution to one problem to a different and new situation

(3) to create and easily understand symbolic representations of computation and sensory input

(4) to detach modes of thought from raw sensory and perceptual input

Animals have laser beam intelligence, in which a specific solution is used to solve a specific problem. But these solutions cannot be applied to new situations or to solve different kinds of problem.

On the other hand, humans have floodlight cognition that permits them to use thought processes in innovative ways and apply the solution of one problem to another situation.

"My comment": if you lack one of those mentioned skill, are you still being called a human? Indeed, everyone has different potential after he has trained in the right way by the right person. Napoleon could not have a victory over the British if he was not well-trained in French millatary school.

มีประโยชน์

เช้าวันหนึ่ง มนุษย์เงินเดืิิอนคนหนึ่ง ลืมตาตื่นมาด้วยความเหนื่อยล้า
เขารู้สึกปวดหัวหนึบๆ และรู้สึกมึนงง ว่าเค้ากลับมาอยู่บ้านได้อย่างไร
ใช่สินะ เค้าคิดได้ เมื่อคืนนี้เพื่อนร่วมงานชวนเค้าไปดื่มกันมา
เค้าดื่มหนักมากไปหน่อย แต่ก็พอคุมสติให้กลับมาบ้านได้

เค้ารู้สึกครั่นเนื้อครั่นตัวราวกับจะเป็นไข้
ช่วงนี้อากาศเปลี่ยนแปลงซะด้วย หรือเค้าจะเป็นไข้จริงๆ
แต่ไม่ได้สินะ เค้าจะนอนต่อไม่ได้ เค้าต้องไปทำงาน
อีกไม่กี่วัน ก็จะถึงวันประชุมประจำเดือน ที่เค้าต้องเร่งทำงานของเค้า เพื่อให้เจ้านายพอใจ
ยิ่งช่วงนี้เจ้านายหงุดหงิดจากลูกน้องคนอื่นๆ อยู๋ด้วย อาจะเป็นไปได้ว่า
เค้าอาจจะถูกเด้งไปแผนกอื่น หรืออาจจะเด้งออกจากบริษัทไปเลย
หากทำผลงานให้เจ้านายได้ไม่พอใจนัก

วันนี้เค้าทำงานอย่างโดดเดี่ยว ไม่ใคร่ได้คุยกับใครในที่ทำงานนัก
ซึ้งก็เป็นปกติของที่ทำงานนี้อยู๋แล้ว
พนักงานทุกคนล้วนแล้วแต่ยุ่งๆ กับช่วงปิดโปรเจกปลายปีเช่นนี้แหละ
ทำให้ความสัมพันธ์ของพนักงานนั่นก็ไม่ค่อยดีนัก
มีกระทบกระทั่งกันบ้าง จากความหงุดหงิดของพนักงานกันเอง
เค้าทำงานของเค้าไป พรุ่งนี้แล้วสินะที่เค้าจะมีประชุมประจำเดือน
แต่งานของเค้ายังไม่เสร็จเลย
เค้ารู้ดีว่าแค่ไหนกัน ถึงเหมาะที่จะทำให้เจ้านายพอใจ
แต่ไม่ใช่แค่นี้แน่ๆ เค้าต้องทำอีก ทำอีก
เค้าคิดในใจว่า คืนนี้คงไม่ได้นอนแน่ๆ

และก็เป็นจริงดังคาด คืนนั้นเค้าไม่ได้นอน
จากร่างกายที่่ป่วยกระเสาะกระแสะมาอยู๋แล้ว จากการไม่ได้นอน
ทำให้รุ่งเช้าเค้ามีอาการทรุดหนัก แต่ยังไงซะเค้าก็ทำงานจนเสร็จ
เค้าหอบสังขารอันแสนทรมาน ไปทำงานเพื่อไปประชุมประจำเดือน
ยังไงซะวันนี้เค้าก็หยุดไม่ได้ ขาดไม่ได้ ตายไม่ได้
เค้าจบการประชุมลงอย่างราบรื่น แต่ด้วยความอิดโรยจนแทบต้องหามส่งโรงพยาบาลหลังจากการประชุมเสร็จ
เค้ารู้ว่าร่างกายเค้ารับไม่ไหวแล้ว เค้าจึงขอตัวกลับบ้านก่อน
ซึ่งก็๋ไม่ได้ก่อนเวลาเลิกงานหรอก เพราะเวลานั้นก็ทุ่มกว่าเข้าไปแล้ว
แต่ถึงอย่างไรก็ก่อนเพื่อนร่วมงานคนอื่นๆ เพราะปกติก็๋จะกลับกันดึกๆ ดื่นๆ เป็นประจำ

ระหว่างเดินทางกลับ เค้าย้อนคิดถึงชีวิตตัวเอง
สิ่งเดียวที่จะทำให้เค้ามีชีวิตรอดได้ คือการทำงานนั่นเอง
เค้าจะมีประโยชน์และอยู๋ในองค์กรได้ เมื่อเค้ายังทำงานได้อยู่นั่นเอง
น้่ำตาเค้าเริ่มไหลรินลงช้าๆ ชีวิตของเค้าช่างโดดเดียวยิ่งนัก
คำถามหลายๆ อย่างผุดขึ้นในหัวของชายหนุ่มคนนี้
"ประโยชน์ของมนุษย์คนนึงอยู่แค่นี้เองหรือ"
"ชีวิตอิสระที่เค้าใฝ่ฝันเป็นแบบไหนกันหรือ"
"อะไรกันหรือที่จะทำให้คนเรามีคุณค่ามากกว่าผลของงาน"
"ไม่ใช่หรอก ไม่ใช่หรอก" นั่นคือคำตอบที่เค้าเคยได้ยินได้ฟังมา
แม้ว่ามันจะฟังดูดี แต่ในความเป็นจริงไม่ใช่อย่างนั้นน่ะสิ
อย่างไรก็ตามมนุษย์ก็ยังดูที่ความมีประโยชน์ของผู้อื่นอยู่ดี
หากไม่มีประโยชน์แล้ว ใครเค้าจะเอาคนนั้นไว้ อยู๋อีกล่ะ
เค้าสงบใจแล้วนั่งรถต่อไปอย่างเศร้าใจ
ยังไงซะ เค้าต้องสู้้ต่อไป ชีวิตเค้าต้องดำเนินต่อไป
ตอนนี้ร่างกายเท่านั้นที่เค้าต้องควบคุมให้อยู๋ในสภาพปกติ เพื่อสู้ชีวิต...ต่อไป
